Vintage Double Hose

The last 3 Spiro Royal Mistrals I have worked on have had 3 different HP port configurations. One had a 6mm female O ring sealed port, one had a normal 3/8" female O ring sealed port and the last had a 10mm male port with a metal to metal seal similar to a hooka port but smaller. Anyone have any info on why and when so many different configurations.

Tom I search out the most unusual Spiros that I can find so that when the mailman comes with a package you lock the door!
In person I have never seen a Spiro gauge that has the 6mm threads or a gauge that has a female ends.

As far as I know you have seen all the possible permutations of HP ports. Unfortunately it is very difficult to track down time lines on Spirotechnique products. The problem is that the paper trail is virtually non existent. Besides being practically non existent most of the Spiro catalogs do not have dates. They mention the HP ports but they do not disclose the port size. The other problem is that the regs we advertised in Spiro catalogs and Technisub. So figuring out what and when is nearly impossible. I have been trying to find out what year the Royal Mistral was introduced and even that has proved difficult. It does appear to date back to the mid 60's which is older than I thought. I have been going through Spiro catalogs carefully for the past couple of days. I will let you know if I unlock the mystery. -Ryan

The Royal Mistral was introduced in 1965. This information came from the archives of La Spirotechnique when they still exist.
I'm trying to date all the catalog of La Spirotechnique too.
