RAM Freeflow

Have been diving my RAM since March with over 50 dives so far. On three different occasions, the regulator had a very small free flow when it was connected to a tank for the second dive of the day. The free flow continued even during the dive and was very frustrating!!!! The only way to stop it was to take the band clamp off and open up the reg. Put it back together and it stopped. Well, it happened again today after my first dive. Hooked up the second tank and it was hissing again. Tried everything short of opening up the reg with no success. Finally, I looked through the exhaust holes and could see the duckbill was tight against the diaphragm. Used a small flathead screwdriver through an exhaust hole to separate the two and the free flow stopped!! Hope this simple fix will help someone else.

Great Tip Ernie! I have noticed that since we have been running the RAM and PRAM at a much higher than standard IP pressure and combo that with the ultra sensitive silicone diaphragm it is very easy to get a free flow.... May have to put a dab of sealant on the duckbill and adhere it to the top of the can just to be sure.....JMO....Your results may vary...
