Vintage Double Hose

Hey there...I'm relatively new here but have been interested in vintage double hose regs since my father first introduced me to diving in the early 70's. I just won an ebay auction for a DA Aquamaster and when I get it I plan on having Bryan service it and of course use it. I'm so excited. Thanks guys - anything you can suggest or recommend I would appreciate hearing from you more experienced vintage divers.

Make sure you mount your tank as low as you can to get the reg body bettween your shoulder blades and swim in a slightly heads up position. That way you'll get the best performance out of it. I would also recommend getting a hooka port adapter and running your bc off of it. Okay, not quite vintage, but learning the skill of using your new reg is a challenge in itself. And it is a different feel as compared to your singe hose. Not better or worse, just different. You can conquer bouancy manually later. I have found double hosers, besides being a blast to use are great for getting close up to fish and are really good for photography. Have fun with it.

You're already doing the smartest thing you can - having bryan rebuild it first- If you're going to be needing a bc and SPG you should check out the sticky about the Phoenix nozzles. http://www.vintagedoublehose.com/forum/ ... php?t=1152
They are coming soon , and depending on your needs you might want to have the Phoenix installed when bryan rebuilds the regulator. The Phoenix will add 3 high pressure ports and 3 LP ports, in addition it will update several important internals.
