Vintage Double Hose

I know somewhere on here I saw a place that you could by the attachement that allows you to use a pressure gague on a double hose. I can't seem to find it again? Perhaps you guys sold out of them?

Check over on the VSS site and see if they still have some. They come and go in availability.Next time they show up better grab some. There is a threasd on the VSS site wherein Broxton Chuck, maker of the banjos, says his machinest has agreed to make some more including some more of the exceedingly rare stainless ones. Perhaps PM Broxton Chuck and see if he has a few. If---if-----you can find no satisfaction and you absolutely must have one now---let me know.


By the way, the fitting you ask about is called a banjo adapter. It fits betwen the valve and the regulator. The regulator must be equipped with a long yoke. Many have only a short yoke so you will need that also. Bryan here at VDH may stil have long yokes for sale. If not you can get them on ebay by buying junker Calypsos. Also, Dan at VSS has a heavy yoke conversion. There is a minor problem with this however. The heavy yoke is not quite as deep as the long standard yoke and therefore it may not accept the banjo adapter on evry valve. I have found I can just barely get it in with a tiney bit of room to spare when using the old Dacor valves with the round metal wheel--also common on ebay. You can also slightly relieve the inner surface of the heavy yoke with a Dremal tool and sanding wheel. The flashing there hinders the installation.

I think that Bryan is going to start production on a new and improved banjo? I could be wrong, but they are thinner and there is no need for the long yoke. I also think they were planned to be stainless instead of soft brass. The brass ones are cheaper to make but brass is a little too soft. JMO

I have the paperwork signed for the stainless steel banjo fitting. It is thinner and can be used with ALL regulators. You DO NOT need to change the yoke......It will RETAIL for $40.00 plus shipping........ I expect them in October....HERE IS THE DEAL

I have the new diaphragms, Phoenix nozzle and one other project that I am keeping secret that are in the works right now.During the Legends of Diving event I started working with someone on another project for the Vintage Equipment Community that will need a lot of cash behind it as well. 100% honest, I just don't have the coin to outlay right now for the banjos. I had to agree to have 100 stainless steel banjos made to get the price down. I didn't want to RIP OFF anyone by offering them at a 400% markup over production cost.
Brass banjos cost $20.00 to produce and stainless ones will cost $30.00.
So if anyone has an extra 3K lying around and would like to send it to me I'll make the banjos tomorrow.
If you have a little patience you can get TWO banjos for what one of them is currently selling for. Plus mine will fit ALL of your double hose regulators without modifying them.

Sorry, but I had plum forgotten about the thread on the eventual new super thin banjo what with all the excitement over the Phoenix nozzle. I only got a few brain cells and they were fully occupied with that. It is (Phoenix nozzle), afterall, the ultimate banjo adapter! I got a new USD spg, old style original type and it sure would like a new super thin VDH banjo. And to think, a couple of years ago when I dug the old Mistral out I was worried over duckbills and where to find them---lol---thanks to Bryan, Luis, Captain, Dan and others all sorts of bits, tools, fittings, nozzles, parts, diaphrams are available--oh--and cool T-shirts also . Put me down for a super thin banjo for sure.

Wow am I supposed to save money when you guys keep thinking up of these great ideas?

I was reminded the other day of how great it is to have someone like Bryan around to supply us with our goodies. I was working on my Medi reg and found that my cigar punch makes a perfect round plug out of hard plumbing rubber for a low pressure seat. And it's a perfect fit and works fine.

Remember when we had to deal in dark alleyways and search high and low for parts for our Royals, DA's, Mistrals, etc?

Thank you for replying. I E mailed that guy about the banjoe fitting but he didnot reply yet. I might wait till I can get the two for one deal.

Broxton Larry, I do have one brand new one but I paid 80 bukaroos for it. If you need one because of an upcoming trip or something I will sell it to you but if there is no hurry I suggest waiting till there are some more, given Bryan some time. If you want the one I have let me know.

Chuck has been in and out of town a lot lately, mostly out......give him another try if you need one now......

I e-mailed him not too long ago (within the last month). He says he still has them in stock.
