New Argonaut Yoke

Thu Mar 20, 2014 10:26 pm

I just got this pictures of the new yoke from Bryan.

No, they are not going to be gold plated. These are actually just an unfinished (not-plated) highly polished brass parts. I am looking forward to see it once it with the final coating.

I designed the new yoke to easily handle any high pressure tank, with plenty excess capacity.

Here are shots of the 3D model.

It has an "early" look to it. I like it! :)

Will it fit on most DIN Convertible valves?

I got this picture from Bryan with this text:
"That was on an XS DIN insert valve so I have no reason to think it won't work on most others. There was some extra space ....Fit was not that tight at all."

The DIN convertible valves do not meet the CGA 850 standard. Therefore I had to rely on the valve samples that I have access to. The B dimension below is about 1.09 inches, but every DIN convertible valve I have seen also has a taper on the rear (as shown in the picture above).
