DIN Adaptor for Phoenix Nozzle

Fri May 06, 2011 12:15 am

Trying to find a Conshelf XIV Din adaptor for my Phoenix Nozzle. Not having much luck.
Anyone know where I can find one, or one that will work?
Also is the Phoenix Nozzle able to handle 3500psi?
Thanks
Mike

Using the search feature I came up with ...

Luis and others use the Phoenix with a DIN and 3445 cylinders all the time.
Doing it right should include some common sense, not just blindly following specs and instructions. .Gary D, AWAP on SB

It works fine, but does add 1" between the tank valve and the can. This starts to be a problem with any back pack system but should work OK with a vintage harness.

The DIN works great with my Poseidon doubles.
There was a thread here about it, but it was lost a while back due to server issues or something similar.

Here is a thread with similar information.

Here is also a thread of the Phoenix being used for technical diving (extended range diving).

The Phoenix can handle any tank pressure.

Here are a couple of pictures

Thanks for all the information. Anyone know where to find a DIN adaptor that will work on the Phoenix? Is the Conshelf the only one that will work? Cant seem to find one.
Thanks

Yes, The Conshelf is the only one that will fit. Any Aqua Lung dealer should be able to order you one. It may be on back-order,but they should eventually get one in.

Good luck

I acquired a new DIN adapter and installed it on my Phoenix today. Did a short test dive and it worked great. I dive HP tanks exclusively when on open circuit and have a few tanks with the older angled USD HP(3.5)valves.

Since these valves hold the reg at an angle instead of flat against your back I wasn't sure how it would breath. The WOB was fine for me, no noticeable difference to diving it flat against my back. I was also test diving an Aqualung Zuma BC for travel and it too worked great. Attached are a few pictures of the reg and tank setup, I'll take this setup on my next warm water trip and do some deeper longer dives.
