Re: First diving book purchase?

Another excellent source to find vintage dive books is your local library if they have inter-library loan. I have checked out many old books from the 50s and early 60s through this service. It seems like colleges never get rid of their books. I had one book even come from a prison library. A great way to preview any old books prior to purchasing them.

I agree, Lakediver, and welcome to the Forum in general and the Bibliophile forum in particular :D . I have several diving books on my shelves still with their library markings. Not overdue borrowings, I hasten to add, but a few of them purchased in public library sales counters where surplus to requirements tomes are available. I agree too that the inter-library loan service is wonderful. I used it a great deal when I was studying for my Masters degrees back in the 1970s and 1980s. I am glad to hear it is still going now we are in an age when libraries seem to have more computers than books!
