LE MONDE SANS SOLEIL

this is more of a plug for the movie than the book, but both of them are classics and a great addition to your vintage diving library. so, i watched this classic again tonight and who thinks the parrot survived the second hand pipe smoke and un-filtered cig smoke on conshelf? maybe the parrot was drinking fine french merlot with all the other divers, including jeek, and living at depth for awhile canceled out any ill effects? different times, i say.(or maybe crazy ice divers still drink the high life between dives:shock:)(and i could not have surrvived my ice diving course without a little peppy schnapps, don't cha know )
you gotta give it up to cousteau though. he made some outstanding films and always had that theatrical flair. the opening footage in the movie with the decending diving saucer spewing out yellow dye follows the divers decending with magnesium flares in the opening footage of the silent world.
Get a copy of this movie and enjoy some great vintage diving!!
