Passing of Wes Skiles

Mon Jul 26, 2010 1:17 pm

My prayers and thoughts go to his family. I had the distinct opportunity to meet and dive with Wes in the early to mid 80's and then again in the mid 90's. A true conservationist and caretakeer of our Florida Waterways is gone. A tragic loss. May his family find peace in the knowledge that he has left lasting impressions for the rest of us to marvel.

First dives? 1967 and I never lost the fever.

The diving world has lost another pioneer. He was a great cavern and cave diver and a fantastic freelance photographer for National Geographic. (and an Ikelite customer)
