Did more than that, like most years went to the cemetery where a flag flys for every veteran buried there, flowers are laid on the headstones, honor guard fires a salute, and a small program is put on including a recitation of "In Flanders Fields", many years ago I was that lad. Then in the afternoon attended the Memorial Day program which included the high school band playing marches, local young talent singing and usually a short speech by a local veteran. One year Kathryn L. Koob, - Embassy Cultural Officer; one of two female hostages in The Iran hostage crisis, gave a nice long talk. Pretty good for a town of 200 people.
With a grin on my face and bubbles at my back!
