I don't remember ever seeing a Calypso piston without the recess for the spring.....Interesting!antique diver wrote:Piston on left looked very familiar, so I opened up my 1970 Calypso-J to be sure:
The piston may have changed when they changed the end cap to be slightly longer, accepting a small spring with its threaded adjustment orifice at the hose end to make the IP adjustable. Or it may have been the next version when they added the swivel cap with two extra hose ports.Bryan wrote:I don't remember ever seeing a Calypso piston without the recess for the spring.....Interesting!antique diver wrote:Piston on left looked very familiar, so I opened up my 1970 Calypso-J to be sure:
Hole all the way though the center of both parts. Looks like some type of two piece high pressure seat.ovalis wrote:For part # 1047-28, is there a seating surface with a hole in the middle of it on the left side of that part?
It's been many years since I opened up a single-hose USD ROYAL second stage, but I am almost certain that this item is the demand poppet assembly for same.Bryan wrote:
Part number 1047-28 Not sure what this goes to either??
I recall these regs being a little troublesome to tune to my satisfaction, and it is possible that they had more than one version of the demand poppet in an attempt at improvement.ovalis wrote:I was thinking that the closest thing I could think of was the demand poppet for the single hose Royal, but the ones I've seen look similar but definitely different than the one pictured here. Possibly the same part, but maybe a design change along the way.
I do not remember that regulator at all?ovalis wrote:I was thinking that the closest thing I could think of was the demand poppet for the single hose Royal, but the ones I've seen look similar but definitely different than the one pictured here.
