Conshelf odd port sizes

I Just picked up what I thought was a Connie XIV supreme for a project I'm working on. Looks nice enough but has huge, looks like 1/2 inch LP ports. Hp is a standard 7/16. Do I have something different than I thought?

There was a marketing trend at one time to use 1/2 LP hoses for the "main" second stage. More marketing than anything but a lot of regs had 1/2 ports for a while. I have a Dacor and a SEA with the 1/2 ports. I just use a 1/2 male to 3/8 female adapter in the regs.

As Herman said.... I too have a Dacor 960 first that has that marketing attempt (late 80's era). Somewhere I also had obtained the "special" hose, but when I dove it, I preferred a shorter hose so used an adapter for "generic" hoses too.

I had a bunch of those 1/2 to 3/8 adaptors I got in a haul of DACOR stuff. .Herman, did I send those to you or are they in the big abyss parts here?

The Conshelf SE's & maybe some early SE2's had 3 - 1/2" LP ports around the body. They later changed it to 1 -1/2" port for the 2nd stage and had 3- 3/8" ports for the rest of the stuff.

My old Pro Diver had 1/2 inch ports all around (except for the 7/16 HP port). The orientation of this particular reg made for a nice nest of hoses at the back of your head

I need to get into the swing again of vintage scuba. Building Broncos takes too much time & money, especially making them period correct. But I can at least drive them everyday. If I had time to go diving, I would be deep into it again. But rest assured it is at the top of my list.
The Royal/Pro Diver was and is my favorite 1st stage, but I think the angle of the hoses is too much, especially when you turn your head to the right. I think the SEA 1st stage had the optimum angle of the USD regs.

Bryan,
If you can locate those 1/2" to 3/8" adapters, I need one as well for my Conshelf Supreme.
Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I Don't want a regulator with goofy ports sizes even if I can use adapters. So if any one is interested I have one that can be had for $30.00 plus shipping. PM if interested.
