I'm with Luis on this. I have used Scubapro Mk5 (upgraded to balanced) and a Poseidon Cyklon 300 for the last 30- 40 years in all work diving. Both have been great, but the Mk5 has been bullet proof!

My favorite is my first regulator that I bought in 1970, the US Divers NAVCON. I think it is basically the Conshelf in a black housing, but it breathes well, and I have always liked it. I still have it and just sent it out to be serviced, and plan to use it for many more years.

I would have to say that the Calypso J is my favorite, not that the Conshelf isn't better but in the 1969 catalog it looked great. And coming from a raged DX and a 72 with a post valve, it seemed like best thing since sliced bead. Plus it was named after the Captain's flagship, how could you go wrong!
I now have two, a Minty early 65 that is marked Patent Pending with the correct SPG and a Calypso 4 heavy yoke with 3 LP fittings and a . They are both tweaked to pull a .8 on the Magnahelic.

My favorite single hose would be the Porpoise. It was the first one. This picture is of myself on the left with a Porpoise Universal (circa 1958). The chap to the right is Tony and he has the first model the Porpoise CA-1 (circa 1952). The location is Flinders on Western Port Bay near Melbourne, Australia.

This is an original ad for the Porpoise.

Another vote for the MKV. I loved my Poseidon but as Luis said, it was finicky.

PS it was great meeting a bunch of you at Legends.
